A small text field next to each issue so you can add personal (planning) comments that don't need to be shared in the project. e.g. for PM's to note down who's planned for this issue job

As a user, I want to see the number of issues in each status category. So that I can track the project completion rate based on the issue count.

If user adds custom fields like Start / End Date at Initative or Epic, you could probably take that data to show how it is progressing in a timeline Gantt view and show a progress bar against those dates (progress already being tracked).
